Dad’s Meatloaf

From the good old Betty Crocker Cookbook, with a couple of adaptations; Dad made this one really well:

¼ c. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 c. dry bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
½ tsp. dry mustard
¼ tsp. pepper
¼ tsp. ground sage
1¼ c. milk
1 egg
¾ lb. (370 grams) Italian sausage
¾ lb. (370 grams) hamburger
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

In a large bowl, mix onion, garlic, bread crumbs, salt, mustard, pepper, and sage.  Set aside for 30 minutes for flavors to meld.  Add remaining ingredients and mix well.  Spread in ungreased loaf pan and bake in a preheated 350ºF / 175°C oven for about 90 minutes.
